Direct is the owned channel for material sent to a named recipient: decks, proposals, one-pagers, RFP responses. It is the highest-stakes channel the brand runs, because the audience is often a single decision-maker, and the least systematised. The studio team owns it.

Regulations

Direct is an owned channel, so its regulations come from the technology rather than a platform owner: the constraint is what the recipient's software renders faithfully.

Format Size / ratio File format Notes
Deck 16:9 PDF export from the deck template; fonts embedded
One-pager A4 portrait PDF single page, no appendices
Proposal A4 portrait PDF multi-page; cover carries the lockup
RFP response per the RFP PDF unless specified the RFP's format instructions override ours

PDF is the delivery format: it embeds fonts, fixes layout, and renders the same everywhere. Native files (Keynote, Figma, Docs) never leave the studio.

Standards

  • The current version is retrievable. Anyone on the team can grab the latest deck without asking a designer. A deck that lives on someone's laptop is an edition nobody can find.
  • Every document starts from a template, never from a copy of the last one sent. Copies of copies are how old pricing, dead case studies and stale logos ship.
  • Logo: primary lockup on covers, avatar on interior footers: 4.1 Logo
  • Colour and type follow the presentation set: 4.2 Colour, 4.3 Typography
  • Named, versioned exports: recipient-facing filenames carry the brand and the subject, never final_v3.

Formats

  • Deck: the pitch and the capabilities story; 16:9, presented live or sent ahead.
  • One-pager: the leave-behind; one argument, one page.
  • Proposal: scope, approach, and price for a named piece of work.
  • RFP response: the proposal, shaped to someone else's questionnaire.

Tools

No Direct tools exist yet. The retrieval standard above is the candidate for the first one: a current-version index, so "which deck is current?" stops being a question a designer answers. Request it when the pain repeats.
