A deliberate double meaning
The name By Default carries a deliberate double meaning. It challenges the idea of doing things "by default", the inherited, unquestioned way. And it declares a new standard: inclusive design shouldn't be something you opt into. It should be the default.
That belief gave us our name. We wanted to build the kind of studio we always wished existed for neurodivergent folks. One we'd be proud to show up to every day, and one where divergent teams can thrive. A space where different ways of thinking aren't just tolerated but treated as the thing that makes the work better.

Using "by default" in copy
We sprinkle "by default" playfully but meaningfully in our writing. One of our brand philosophies is that "by default" belongs at the start or end of a sentence, but only where it reinforces our unique differences, values, or approach. Infuse it meaningfully in intros, closings, and wherever it feels natural. Never force it.
Use it sparingly and only where it adds meaning. It should feel like a wink, not a catchphrase.
